Hyundai shows off car entertainment systems at U.S. electronics show
SEOUL, Jan. 8 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's top automaker, said
Thursday it is displaying its latest in-car entertainment systems at the world's
largest electronics fair.
Hyundai's line-up includes for the first time in-car TV sets, voice-activated
stereos and navigation systems, all of which are being shown at the International
Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The show is being held from Jan. 8-11 in Las
Vegas.
"It's meaningful to join the CES because we could offer a course of technology
development for future cars in the field of electronics and information
technology," the company said in a statement.
The global market for in-car entertainment systems is likely to grow sharply in
coming years as automakers are working to give drivers Internet access in their
vehicles.
Hyundai signed an agreement with Microsoft Corp. in May of last year that will
make it the first Asian automaker to use the U.S. software giant's in-vehicle
entertainment system in 2010.
