Leadership congratulated on handball team achievement

, Jan. 30 (BNA): Bahrain Olympic Committee general secretary Abdulrahman Askar congratulated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s leadership on the Bahrain national handball team reaching the next World Championship. The nationals finished second at the recently-concluded 17th Asian Championship in Bahrain, thus ensuring themselves a place in the 2017 World Championship finals in France. Askar also congratulated Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and committee President on this occasion and for the success achieved by the kingdom in hosting this major international handball event. Askar extended his appreciation and gratitude to Shaikh Nasser for his continued support to the team, which played a major part in the achievement. The BOC general secretary also commended the national team performance during the competition and deservedly clinched a spot in next year’s World Championship for the third successive time. He expressed thanks to the Bahraini spectators who attended the championship matches and supported the national team until the end.
