Major pulic welfare charity project launched

Manama, Jan. 26 (BNA): The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jaffariya Endowments, Shaikh Mohsen Al Asfoor, said the recently-established Charities Unit in the Directorate has begun its initial activation of the charity endowment allocated by His Magnificence Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in 1947 to develop the endowment, consolidate the principles of compassion and inter-community Takaful, support and help the needy and implement charity projects for the public welfare. The charity endowment was allocated by the late His Magnificence Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa who endowed the plot of land located in the capital, Manama, where the current head-offices of the Jaffariya Endowments Directorate (Zahra Building2) is located on Isa Al Kabeer avenue whereas the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments yearly deposits an amount of BD 40,000 in consideration for the Directorate's availing from this endowment for its administrative head-offices, Shaikh Al Asfoor added, He affirmed that the Directorate will continue to activate the objectives and noble intents of the said charity endowment expending its revenue on the needy in addition to launching new projects to help the less fortunate in consolidation of compassion and inter-community Takaful.
