Deputy premier to attend UNESCO-King Hamad ICT Prize distribution

Manama, Jan. 10 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has deputised Deputy Premier and President of the Supreme Council for Education and Training HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa to attend a ceremony to grant the UNESCO-King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the Use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in Education. The deputy premier will tomorrow leave for Paris to patronise the prize-distribution ceremony, set to be held at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) headquarters on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Launched in 2006 under the auspices of His Majesty the King, the prize reflects HM King Hamad's support to education at the local and international levels, being the source of knowledge and main driving engine of development, creativity and innovation. It is awarded to individuals, institutions, other entities or non-governmental organizations for excellent models, best practice, and creative use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) to enhance learning, teaching and overall educational performance.
