Speaker welcomes severing relations with Iran

Manama, Jan 4 (BNA): Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed Al-Mulla has welcomed the Cabinet's decision issued today to break off diplomatic relations with Iran. Al-Mulla said that it is a strategic decision that supports Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Gulf states, and calls to boycott Iran which exports terrorism to the Gulf countries. He added that the decision boosts maintaining security and countering terrorism, praising the leadership's policy of maintaining security and stability of the homeland, as well as the Gulf and Arab nations. He condemned Iran's constant violation of diplomatic relations with Bahrain and Gulf countries and its attempts to destabilize the Gulf security. He expressed full support for all measures taken by Saudi Arabia aimed at protecting its security and stability and called for moving from the cooperation stage to Gulf unity to ensure a stronger and more secured future for the GCC countries and their people. He stressed that the decision of breaking off diplomatic relations with Iran is a brave step and clear message that highlights Bahrainis' support for their leaders. MJ
