Transportation minister reviews preparations for BIAS opening

Manama, Jan. 3 (BNA): As part of the Bahrain International Airshow Supreme Organising Committee’s efforts and commitment to ensure the event’s success, Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, and Deputy Chairman of the Committee visited Sakhir Airbase to review the latest preparations for the Bahrain International Airshow 2016. The Supreme Organising Committee, which is chaired by his Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Personal Representative of his Majesty the King, has been following up preparations for the event, being held on January 21-23, 2016. The minister met Head of Royal Protocol Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Fadhala, and Major General Bu Hosayen Al Mussalam at the site to examine progress and review final preparations for the event, which is organised by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications in cooperation with the Royal Bahraini Air Force and in association with Farnborough International Ltd. They received progress updates from the sub-committees which have been formed to ensure the event’s success, and observed the safety procedures and guidelines in place for flying air displays, to ensure the safety of visitors at the event. After the tour, the minister expressed satisfaction with the preparations for the fourth Bahrain International Airshow 2016, expressing his confidence in the show’s continuing success for the Kingdom of Bahrain. He emphasised the leading position achieved by the Kingdom in global events in general and by the Bahrain International Airshow in the aviation industry in particular. Kamal bin Ahmed thanked the members of the Supreme Organising Committee, the organisers and staff, praising the high standards of facilities and services for the show, and expressed his confidence in the ability of national talent in organising this significant global event in line with international standards.
