Labour, Social Development Minister opens career expo

Manama, Dec.27 (BNA): A career expo promoting women's employment in the financial and banking sector got underway at the Ministry of Labour and Social Development headquarters. Thirty-three private sector financial and banking establishments are taking part in the two-day fair, offering a total of 303 women-only vacancies with rewarding salaries. Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan opened the expo. He toured different pavilions and heard the exhibitors and jobseekers' comments on employment opportunities in the financial and banking sectors. The minister stressed the crucial importance of holding specialized career expos, stressing the ability of the labour market to generate jobs in all productive sectors despite current economic situation due to plummeting oil prices in world energy markets. He lauded the crucial role of private sector in employing Bahrainis, urging more cooperation to integrate jobseekers in the labour market which represents the cornerstone of social security and peace.
