SCW Vice President receives social work pioneer

Manama, Dec.24 (BNA): Supreme Council for Women (SCW) Vice President Dr. Shaikha Mariam bint Hassan Al-Khalifa received social voluntary work pioneer in the Gulf and Arabian Peninsula Faeqa Khalil Almoayyed, who presented the first issue of her new book "Daughter of Almoayyed". She commended the author's outstanding contributions to promoting social work as early as the 1950s, stressing the crucial importance of the book which documents the role of Bahraini women in developing civil society. Dr. Shaikha Mariam bint Hassan Al-Khalifa said that the documentation of pioneers' march will inspire present and coming generations in their future life, particularly in the fields of social and voluntary work. The author extended thanks to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and (SCW) President for supporting women's empowerment and promoting their status as partners in building Bahrain's bright future.
