Bahrain's support to Yemen affirmed

Cairo, Dec.24 (BNA): Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa today reiterated Bahrain's unwavering stance in support of Yemen. "Bahrain, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, is keen on the necessity of restoring security and stability in Yemen and confronting flagrant foreign inference in its internal affairs", he said. He voiced the stance as he met Yemeni Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulmalik Abduljalil Al-Mekhlafi on the sidelines of the Arab League Council ministerial extraordinary meeting in Cairo, Egypt. He affirmed Bahrain's unwavering support to the legitimate leadership of President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi as well as participation in the Arab Alliance in defence of legitimacy in Yemen. He stressed the necessity of reaching a political settlement and reiterated Bahrain's resolve to continue contributing to all humanitarian efforts which are aimed at alleviating Yemen people's suffering. The minister congratulated Dr. Al-Mekhlafi on his appointment as Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister and wished him every success at this defining and critical phase of Yemen's history. Dr. Al-Mekhlafi paid tribute to the Kingdom of Bahrain for its active participation and sacrifices, which are highly valued by the Yemeni Government and people.
