Reform, Rehabilitation Directorate holds ceremony

Manama, Dec.22 (BNA): The Directorate of Reform and Rehabilitation hosted a ceremony marking the Gulf Inmates Week, being held this year under the slogan "Together to achieve reform". The event was held under the patronage of Interior Ministry Undersecretary Major-General Khalid Salim Al-Absi, in the presence of Ombudsman Nawaf Al-Maawda, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) delegations and a number of inmates families. . Directorate of Reform and Rehabilitation acting chief addressed the ceremony extending thanks to the Minister of Interior for his directives to ensure inmates get services and programmes that comply with the international standards. He paid tribute to Maj. Gen Al-Absi for his continuous follow-up. The GCC delegations were honoured along with outstanding and disciplined inmates. Inmates contributed to the event, staging a traditional Ardha show, a play and other musical activities. The GCC delegations were briefed on the services provided to the inmates and then toured the Nasser Centre for Rehabilitation and Vocational Training.
