Crown Prince attends HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman’s graduation from BRNC, highlights Bahrain Royal Naval Forces' efforts in maintaining regional security

London, Dec.17 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today attended the graduation ceremony of his son, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa from the Britannia Royal Naval College (BRNC). Upon his arrival, His Royal Highness was received by Captain Henry Duffy, the Commanding Officer of the BRNC. His Royal Highness then inspected the Officer parade. On this occasion, His Royal Highness extended his congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad, the Supreme Commander of the Bahrain Defence Force and to His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa. His Royal Highness then highlighted His Highness Shaikh Isa’s efforts during his training course, for which he received the Captain’s Award. His Royal Highness then extended his best wishes to His Highness Shaikh Isa, wishing him a prosperous future dedicated to the service of Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad. His Royal Highness went on to express his deep pride for all Bahrainis committed to military service, particularly those serving in the navy, noting its importance in protecting Bahrain and its future development and prosperity. In this regard, His Royal Highness emphasised the integral role the Bahrain Royal Naval Force (BRNF) plays in maintaining the Kingdom’s security and stability. His Royal Highness highlighted the extraordinary efforts of the BRNF in maintaining regional security, working alongside regional allies to successfully carry out counter-terrorism and piracy operations. His Royal Highness went on to express his admiration of the BRNF and its personnel, noting that their exemplary capabilities and performance has safeguarded the country’s gains. Speaking about bilateral ties, His Royal Highness then highlighted the long-standing strategic ties between Bahrain and the United Kingdom, which span over 200 years and across a wide range of sectors, including military and defence. His Royal Highness then highlighted the British Royal Navy’s long-standing experience in training future British and international naval servicemen, noting their highly advanced curriculum and training programmes which Bahrain, in particular continues to benefit from. Admiral Sir George Zambellas,‎ First Sea Lord of the British Royal Navy also addressed the parade, in which he highlighted the leading role the British Royal Navy plays in promoting international security through mutual collaboration with the United Kingdom’s partners and allies. In this regard, Admiral Zambellas noted that the establishment of a permanent British Royal Navy base in the Mina Salman port area in Bahrain is a clear demonstration of the UK's commitment to renew its presence in the Gulf region, to tackle shared regional threats. In response, His Highness Shaikh Isa extended his appreciation and gratitude to His Royal Highness on the support and guidance he received from him throughout his time at BRNC. His Highness added that he looks forward to continuing his service to the Kingdom of Bahrain, particularly in advancing the Kingdom’s maritime security and defence capabilities through his service in the Bahrain Defence Force. In this regard, His Highness underscored his commitment to the development of the Kingdom across all sectors under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad. Shaikh Ahmed bin Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and Faisal bin Majid Al-Bin Ali also participated in the graduation ceremony. Following the ceremony, His Highness Shaikh Isa, Shaikh Ahmed and Al-Bin Ali exchanged congratulations and best wishes on their commissioning. His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa, son of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Shaikh Khalifa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, President of the Court of the Crown Prince, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director General of the Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister, Brigadier Shaikh Khalifa bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Commander of the BRNF and a number of senior members of the Royal Family attended the ceremony. BRNC is regarded as one of the oldest naval colleges in the World and was founded in 1863. Since its inception, it has graduated many world leaders and notable British naval officers. His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa’ s resume: His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, born in March 1990, is the eldest son of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. He is married and has one son. After completing his primary education at Ibn Khuldoon National School, His Highness went on to graduate from the Bahrain School in 2008. His Highness completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Economics from the American University in Washington on 13 May 2012. On 2 February 2013, His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa appointed His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman as the Chairman of the Isa bin Salman Educational Charity Waqf. On 20 April 2014, His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa appointed His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman as Deputy Chairman of the High Commission for Rashid Equestrian and Horse-riding Club. He has represented His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince on several occasions both nationally and internationally. His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman is an accomplished horseman and falconer, and also enjoys reading and football.
