BIPD chairman receives IPI MENA director

Manama, Dec. 15 (BNA): Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi received here today Director of International Peace Institute (IPI) Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Office Nejib Friji, who congratulated him on the Royal trust bestowed on him through his appointment to the post and wished him every success assuming his duties. Al Rumaihi highlighted the remarkable role played by IPI that is headquartered in Manama, and affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain supports IPI's activities and programs aimed at disseminating peace and security in the region. Friji valued highly the Kingdom's efforts at supporting IPI's activities and events and affirmed its aspiration to cooperate with BIPD, given the institute's role at promoting the concept of democracy and consolidating the culture of dialogue. He lauded the Kingdom of Bahrain's achievements under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, especially on the political, economic and social levels. He wished Bahrain further progress and prosperity as it is celebrating the National day. BIPD is a national institute established pursuant to the Royal Decree No. 39/2005 and aims to promote the democratic culture, support and establish the principles of sound democratic concepts, within the framework of the constitutional and legal rules and principles.
