Nasser bin Hamad receives sponsors, organisers of IronMan 70.3 Middle East Championship

Manama, Dec. 14 (BNA): HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee received today the representatives of the sponsoring establishments and committee members of the recently-held IronMan 70.3 Middle East Championship and Nasser Bin Hamad Triple Crown Triathlon Series.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa asserted that the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa was the main factor of success of the international championship, adding that His Majesty the King’s attendance was an honour to all the participants in the event. He appreciated His Majesty the King’s constant support to Bahraini youth and sports movement.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa commended the sponsors of the championship, describing their initiatives as a proof of their honest responsibilities towards the development of local youth and sports field.
He highlighted that the generous support offered by the establishments reflects their wise policies to support such key events that are taking place in the Kingdom of Bahrain and contributing to making it a hub for sporting events in the Middle East.
During the meeting, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa pointed out to the international accomplishments of the members of Bahrain Endurance Team and Bahrain Endurance 13 Ironman Team in the championship.
He praised the efforts of the organising committees which contributed in bringing out a successful international event without affecting the interests of citizens, residents or visitors and also ensured a smooth flow of traffic during all stages of the race, emphasising Bahrain’s capability to organise and host such key events.
On his part, Khalid Al Rumaihi, the CEO of the Economic Development Board, expressed the board’s honour to sponsor and support the championship which is organised for the first time in the Middle East, stressing its role in projecting Bahrain's achievements mainly in the youth and sport field.
