HRH Premier calls for removing obstacles facing investment

Manama, Dec. 14 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has affirmed that the continuous and dynamic urban development witnessed by the kingdom reflects the extent of the confidence in its open investment atmosphere which, he said, is based on an integrated package of modern legislation and laws that ensure all success requirements for investors. He added that the development process witnessed by the kingdom is going ahead according to specific and scheduled programmes that meet the citizens' needs and expectations. "The ultimate goals are to advance the nation and fulfill the aspirations of the Bahraini citizens for development and progress in various fields," HRH Premier said, stressing that the government will continue implementing development projects, particularly housing ones, in various regions according to its action plan. HRH Premier made the statements as he received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, MPs, Shura Council members and senior state officials, and reviewed with them a number domestic and international issues. HRH the Prime Minister affirmed that the laws regulating the national economy are periodically reviewed through the assessment of the current situation and envisioning the future needs for the sake of maintaining the distinguished status reached by the kingdom in a way that benefits the citizens and reflect positively on their standards of living. "We have to organise our affairs by ourselves, assess our economic situation accurately and try to remove any potential obstacles that may impede investment and investors. Bahrain has to keep its leading status, and remain the first and best choice for investors, and everyone should try to achieve this," he said, expressing optimism about the future growth of the national economy amid the numerous projects being launched across the kingdom in all the trade, investment and recreational fields. HRH Premier indicated that over the past years, the government has been keen on creating a suitable atmosphere for investment to grow and flourish through providing facilities and incentives, as well as advanced infrastructure, which, he said, has contributed to the increase of various forms of investment in the country. In the coming period, the focus will be on enhancing the growth of the national economy and increasing its revenues, and this requires a secure and stable atmosphere, he said. HRH the Prime Minister lauded the existing solid cooperation between the Executive and Legislative branches regarding everything related to meeting the citizens' needs, stressing that MPs and Shura Council members are partners to the government in achieving the interests of the people in various fields.
