Supportive programmes for women entrepreneurs stressed

Manama, Dec 9 (BNA): Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed Al-Zayani has patronized the Third Regional Forum "Alwani" held by Bahrain Small and Medium Enterprises Development Society. The forum aims at creating a platform for women entrepreneurs to exchange business ideas to support women. The minister, in his speech, underlined keenness to support small and medium enterprises for the benefit of women as an active working element of the community. He said the ministry is seeking to increase the number of small and medium enterprises, where the average of these institutions reaches 30% at the GCC level compared with Europe, Asia and Africa, where the number is doubled in European countries. He stressed the ministry's readiness to provide a variety of supportive programmes that assist in starting new projects in the interest of women.
