HRH Premier deputises cabinet affairs minister to open Aster DM Healthcare

Manama, Dec. 9 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa deputised Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Mutawa to open Aster DM Healthcare that offers health services at reasonable prices and high quality. Supreme Council for Health President Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh attended. Al-Mutawa affirmed the government's keen interest in promoting the private sector's investments in the health sector and encouraging the establishment of more medical facilities through providing more incentives and facilities for this sector. He said that these efforts come within the government's framework of enhancing the health sector and offering high quality health services that meet the needs of the citizens and residents and enhance the levels and indicators of public health. The opening ceremony included a welcome speech by Aster DM Healthcare Chairman Dr. Azad Moopen followed by a ribbon cutting, in the presence of dignitaries, senior officials and Aster DM Healthcare board members. Dr. Moopen expressed his pride in HRH Premier's patronage and Al-Mutawa's presence at the inauguration of Aster DM Healthcare . He said that over the past months he worked closely with the government and the ministry of health on finding opportunities to support health care improvement plans. He added that they focused on providing specialised medical service at reasonable prices in order to meet the growing patients' needs and face the risk of Non-communicable disease (NCD). Aster DM Healthcare's team works in line with high academic and professional standards to provide outstanding medical care services and raise the society's awareness about a healthy lifestyle. It will continue in its expansion plan by increasing the number of the medical staff to 70 members and establishing five other institutions in Bahrain. Aster DM Healthcare aims to enhance the health care system in the region by investing more than US$ 136 million in the Arabian Gulf over the next two years. Aster DM Healthcare Executive Director and CEO Alisha Moopen said that Aster DM Healthcare will help reducing the vast difference between the number of outpatient and inpatient in Bahrain by receiving patients on a daily basis. Aster DM Healthcare is an integrated family health centre, strategically located in Gudaibiya which is one of the most densely populated areas in Bahrain, and it will provide health services for the local community at reasonable prices that promote social and economic development and quality of health services in the Kingdom.
