Media cooperation established

Manama, Dec. 8 (BNA): Information, Parliament Affairs Minister Isa Abdulrahman Al-Hammadi stressed the ministry's keenness, in cooperation with the executive branch, to highlight the Council of Representatives' legislative and supervisory role and its national democratic achievements during the prosperous era of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The minister welcomed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Information Affairs Ministry and the Council of Representatives on enhancing cooperation between the two sides for the dissemination of parliamentary culture, accentuating the parliament's achievements in the interest of the citizens and residents, providing full media coverage for parliamentary sessions and activities, the exchange of news and technical expertise, as well as establishing cooperation to uplift human development and training programmes. Representatives' Secretary-General Abdullah Al-Dossary thanked the minister for supporting the MoU, underlining the preparation of parliamentary educational TV program to cover the parliamentary sessions, in both Arabic and English, and to highlight the activities of the Secretariat and the Social Communication Committee. Bahrain News Agency (BNA)'s Acting Director-General Mohannad Sulaiman Al-Noaimi, who represented the ministry's side in the signing ceremony of the MoU, underscored the ministry's eagerness to cover the activities of the Council of Representatives and the General Secretariat through TV, radio channels, as well as Bahrain News Agency. He welcomed the participation of the Representatives Secretariat's staff to training courses held by BNA Media Skills Development Centre.
