Bahrain participates in APA session

Phenom Penh, Dec. 8 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain's parliamentary delegation is participating in Asia Parliamentary Assembly (APA)'s eight session themed "Promoting Peace, Reconciliation and Dialogue in Asia", in the Vietnamese capital, Phenom Penh, on December 7-12. The delegation affirmed the importance of parliamentary cooperation to serve Asian issues, asserting the need to muster international efforts to boost the effectiveness of the UN to cope with growing disputes, conflicts, secession and dangers threatening the integrity and unity of several countries in the Asian continent. Member of the delegation MP Mohammed Al Emadi cited the importance of efforts to ensure peace and stability in the continent through various initiatives and peaceful solutions and to align the discourse to tackle dangers and challenges. He also cited the importance of parliamentary cooperation and its role in consolidating the bonds between Asian nations. He added Asia's parliamentary assembly meetings offer a good opportunity to explore ways to develop cooperation. The meetings also offer good opportunity to closely define matters capable of achievement of desirable change regarding policies, plans and programmes to boost the level of cultural, political and socio-economic development in Asian countries. He affirmed Bahrain's support for the formation of All Asia Parliament.
