HM King receives BIPD board

Manama, Dec.7 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa stressed the importance of political development in strengthening national awareness and democratic practices. He underlined the crucial role of Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) in consolidating democracy, promoting people's participation, instilling loyalty, disseminating the culture of human rights and public liberties and strengthening national identity and the separation between powers. This came as he received at Sakhir Palace BIPD members, led by Board of Trustees' Chairman and Royal Court Undersecretary for Telecommunications and Information Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi marking the royal order appointing them. HM the King congratulated them on their appointment and commended their competence, hailing the efforts of the outgoing chairman and members, which contributed to promoting political development in Bahrain. He urged the think tank members to further consolidate political development as it represents the cornerstone of social progress, stressing the importance of holding forums which would push the democratic march forward. HM the King stressed the importance of focusing on the values tolerance and fraternity and the renunciation of violence and fanaticism, as well as the common denominators between all citizens. "The people of Bahrain will, God Willing, remain a closely-knit family", HM the King said, crediting citizens' dedication and contribution to their country's progress and prosperity. On behalf of BIPD members, Al-Romaihi extended deepest thanks and appreciation to HM the King, commending the royal directives to continue developing the think tank and strengthening its role in bolstering national work and honing political competences so that they could contribute to their country's bright future.
