Yemen, US discuss cooperation in human rights
SANA'A ,Jan. 05 (Saba) - Minister of Human Rights Huda al-Ban
discussed on Monday with the charge' d'affaires of the US embassy
Angie Bryan cooperation aspects between the two friendly countries
in human rights area and ways of developing and strengthening them.
During the meeting, the two dealt with women political
participation, particularly in the upcoming parliamentary election .
Al-Ban confirmed that Yemen is interested in supporting ties with
partners for strengthening and protecting the human rights,
expressing at same time condemnation of Yemeni government and people
of the barbaric slaughters and genocide being committed by Zionist
war in Gaza violating all standards and international treaties .
The minister affirmed big interest in finding out guaranteed
mechanisms for women to obtain as much as possible seats in the
parliament, pointing to her previous request to the European Union
to present the possible support for women candidates and help
independent ones to carry out training programs in field of
electoral program.
The two reviewed several concepts of constitution and law which
provide equality among citizens and indiscriminate in gender.
