Bahraini ambassador hosted at Parliament by Conservative MPs

London, Dec.5 (BNA): Bahrain's Ambassador to the UK Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa has been cordially invited by Sir Alan Duncan, Chairman of the Conservative Middle East Council (CMEC), Director Leo Docherty, and eight other Conservative MPs who include Charlotte Leslie, Helen Whately, Kwasi Kwarteng, Johnny Mercer, Jack Lopressti, and Dr Philip Lee to dinner at the Houses of Parliament.
Sir Alan welcomed Shaikh Fawaz and congratulated him on his induction by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Court of St James.
He expressed his appreciation and admiration for the manner in which Shaikh Fawaz had assumed his ambassadorial role, and specifically praised the number of initiatives that he was involved in and the extent to which he had engaged with both the diplomatic and civic communities in London since taking up his post and added that CMEC looked forward to further cooperation and dialogue with the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The ambassador thanked CMEC members for the warm welcome they have shown him since his arrival in London and reminded of the long standing robust relationship between the two kingdoms and the various and many avenues of cooperation and shared interests between the two nations.
On the sidelines of the dinner, Shaikh Fawaz was greeted by Tobias Ellwood, Undersecretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs as well as recently appointed Undersecretary for Transport, Andrew Jones.
Shaikh Fawaz commented on the constructive outcome on the recent vote in the House of Commons in favor of extending action against Da'esh from Iraq to Syria and commended the UK positive involvement and participation with the other coalition members.
After the Dinner, he presented CMEC with a commemorative Crest of the Bahraini Coat of Arms as a symbol of the friendship and appreciation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Conservative Middle East Council.
