Energy minister receives WREC chairman

Manama, Dec. 3 (BNA): Energy Minister Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza received here today the Chairman of the UK-based World Renewable Energy Congress (WREC) Professor Ali Al-Sayagh, in the presence of the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA)'s Director-General of Oil and Gas Jassim Isa Al-Shirawi and Director-General of Strategies and Planning Ali Abdul Jabbar Al-Sawad, as well as the College of Engineering Dean Dr. Fuad Al-Ansari and former Dean Dr. Nader Al-Bastaki. The minister discussed with the delegation issues related to renewable energy, as well as the possibility of cooperation between NOGA and WREC. He highlighted the kingdom's constant interest in renewable energy, noting that a sustainable energy unis has been set up to take advantage of sources of energy, including the renewable, new and clean ones. The meeting also touched upon the International Renewable Energy Conference, to be hosted by the kingdom in 2016, and the issues on its agenda. WREC chairman thanked the minister for the topics discussed during the meeting, and his positive cooperation regarding the International Renewable Energy Conference, to be held in collaboration with the University of Bahrain, NOGA and the Sustainable Energy Unit.
