Improving living standards stressed

Manama, Nov 29 (BNA): Minister of Information, Shura and Representatives councils Isa Abdulrahman Al-Hammadi stressed the government's keenness on improving the citizens' standards of living, citing a group of government decisions aimed at improving the retirees' pensions. The minister called on the legislative branch to seriously address the financial challenges amid the oil prince fall. This came following the discussion of the Shura Services Committee's report, during the Shura Council weekly meeting, on increasing pensions of pensioners and their beneficiaries in accordance with the retirement law of 1975 on the organization of government employees' retirement pensions and benefits. The minister said that the government has decided to reconsider the draft for a number of reasons, on top of them is that the state budget includes many programmes on improving the living standards of citizens.
