HM the King's support to Bahraini women lauded

Manama, Nov. 24 (BNA): Shura Council expressed pride in Bahrain's achievement under the leadership His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, at promoting women's status, consolidating equality and protecting women by preserving her rights and dignity.
In a statement marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Shura council affirmed its support for women as key partners in the Kingdom of Bahrain's development march.
The council underscored the importance of eliminating violence against women, through showing great interest in laws pertaining to this topic, like passing the Domestic Violence Protection Law, which is a landmark achievement that places Bahrain at the ranks of developed countries in this field.
The council highlighted the Supreme Council for Women' keen interest in supporting the Bahraini women, under the leadership of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Wife of the King of Bahrain and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW).
It extended congratulations to the SCW for launching the National Strategy for the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence, which is related to the theme of "family stability," one of the goals of the National Plan for the Advancement of the Bahraini Women.
The Council hailed SCW's leading efforts on all levels at protecting women's achievements and protecting their rights, in line with constitutional principles.
It added its keen interest in law and conventions that eliminate violence against women, noting the Committee on Women and Children's Affairs' efforts in that field.
