Deputy Premier receives British delegation

Manama, Nov. 23 (BNA): Deputy Premier His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa received Baroness Morris of Bolton, OBE DL DPhil LLD, Member of the British House of Lords, Chairman of British Conservative Party's Council for the Middle East, and Chairman of the Islamic Finance Studies Centre at Bolton University in the United Kingdom accompanied with Professor George E. Holms the Vice Chancellor of Bolton University and several officials from the university, currently visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain. Sylvie Nicolas, the Director-General of Bahrain Institute for Banking and Financial Studies (BIBF) attended the meeting. The two sides explored the historical bilateral cooperation ties, affirming keenness on boosting the cooperation in various fields, especially existing cooperation in the field of Islamic finance and cooperation between BIBF and Bolton University for provision of joint programmes in the field of Islamic finance with focus on solid internationally accredited basis for employees working in the sector of Islamic banking services. They also explored cooperation in the field of education and benefiting from the expertise in Bolton University in various disciplines offered by the university and also benefiting from its expertise in developing vocational and technical education programmes. Baroness Morris of Bolton thanked His Highness the Deputy Premier for his welcoming reception, and his efforts and diligence on developing and consolidating the bilateral cooperation ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, lauding His Highness's efforts in developing education and training in Bahrain.
