Anti-corruption Directorate holds workshop on UNCAC

Manama, Nov 22 (BNA): |The Directorate of Anti-Corruption, Economic and Electronic Security today held a workshop on the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) and the experience of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the process of reviewing the implementation of the Convention. The workshop, which is part of the national campaign to combat corruption (integrity 2015), was attended by a number of government officials concerned with the Convention and Anti-corruption crimes' personnel. Dr. Badir Al-Banaa of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime and Captain Mohammad Khalid Al-Absi Bahrain's expert to the UNODC addressed the workshop, which aimed at informing the attendees of the UN Convention against Corruption and reviewing mechanism of its implementation, explaining the purpose of reviewing, in addition to reviewing the experience of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a member to the Convention.
