Energy management conference on December 6

By Farishta Saeed Manama, Nov. 22 (BNA): The Second Energy Management Conference and Exhibition will be held in Bahrain next month from December 6 to 8 under the patronage of Energy Minister Dr Abdulhussain Mirza. After the very successful 1st Energy Management Conference and Exhibition which took place in December 2013, the National Oil & Gas Authority (NOGA) and Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE) are organising the second edition of the event. The three-day conference and exhibition will be running under the theme Sustainable Energy for Developing Countries. Through this edition, the organisers aim to help the participants achieve their short-term goals of budgeting for energy costs, as well as insights into the future cost and availability of energy sources. The event will be a platform for scientists, professionals, policymakers and other parties to review recent developments in this critical environment and provide the right tools to help the participants navigate in this challenging energy terrain. This informative conference will be dedicated to examining exciting topics in the related field such as policy framework, energy security, energy efficiency, energy and the environment, renewable energies, private sector and financing institutions and climate change. Local, regional and international organisations will be participating in the exhibition being held in parallel to the conference which will showcase the latest trends and technologies. The objective of energy management systems is to ensure the availability of energy sources for fuelling the present without compromising the ability of the future generation to meet their energy needs. Energy management is a top down instrument that enables government institutions to foster collaboration and benefit from the synergy between all stakeholders, including producers, consumers and investors. Energy security over the medium to long term can only be effectively managed by an integrated plan that addressed the following three pillars: Technologies that enhance energy sustainability such as renewable sources and bio-energy, generation efficiency to produce more useable energy from unit input sources and energy efficiency measures to minimise waste and improve energy utilisaiton. The conference will address these important topics specially from the policy and management perspectives and will provide attendees with professional insights of the industry leaders and experts.
