MP affirms parliament support for women

SANA'A, Jan. 04 (Saba)- Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mohammed
al-Shadadi affirmed on Sunday the role of the Parliament in
supporting and reinforcing all legal and constitutional rights of
women via laws enacted by the Parliament.

He valued, during a meeting with chairwoman of the National
Committee for Women Rashida al-Hamdani, the role played by the
committee in adopting women issues and protecting women, as well as
raising awareness of women's rights.

Al-Shabadi noted to the importance that women should occupy more
seats in the Parliament to reflect women struggle to gain this right.

He made clear that the Parliament will, during his future work,
focus to reinforce communication and activation with regard to women
issues and supporting them in order to enhance their presence in the
public life and building the modern Yemeni society.
