Deputy King meets STC Group, VIVA Bahrain CEOs

Manama, Nov. 19 (BNA): Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today met Saudi Telecom Company (STC) Group CEO, Dr Khaled Hussain Biyari, and VIVA Bahrain Chief Executive, Alyan Al-Wateed, at Gudaibiya Palace. His Royal Highness emphasised that Bahrain’s Fourth National Telecommunications Plan will provide a coherent and detailed strategy for delivering further improvements to the nation’s telecommunications sector, and continue improving the standard of services provided to consumers. His Royal Highness highlighted the Kingdom’s achievements in attracting investment into the sector, and improving competiveness to drive up standards. In this regard, His Royal Highness highlighted the efforts by Bahrain and Saudi Arabia to open new market opportunities and boost cross-sector investments. His Royal Highness then extended congratulations to Dr Biyari on his recent appointment as Group CEO of STC, and wished him every success in his new role. His Royal Highness went on to highlight the important contribution STC makes to Bahrain’s telecommunications sector, through VIVA Bahrain. Dr. Biyari expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity to meet with His Royal Highness, highlighting His Royal Highness’ continued support to investments between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain in the telecommunications and other sectors. Dr Biyari concluded by noting STC’s deep appreciation for Bahrain’s efforts to provide the appropriate regulatory framework, which has contributed to VIVA Bahrain’s success and achievements within the Kingdom.
