Manama, Nov. 12 (BNA): Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) officials, along with various Bahraini business representatives, showcased the investment opportunities the Kingdom offers to a delegation of representatives from leading German logistics and transportation companies.
The meeting took place at the Bahrain Financial Harbour (BFH) and was organized by the German-Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs (GESALO), in collaboration with the Bahrain EDB.
During the visit, the German delegation were introduced to Bahrain’s economic climate, including its key competitive advantages, such as its economic freedom, relatively low cost of living, high rate of human capital development, and the diversification of the economy. The delegation was also briefed about the Kingdom’s positive performance on a number of key international indices, and learned about the various opportunities available to potential investors.
Khalid Al Rumaihi, Chief Executive of the Bahrain EDB, commented:
"We welcome the German delegation’s visit to the Kingdom, which reflects the level of interest from German investors in the Kingdom and its rapidly growing transportation and logistics sector. Bahrain, with its high-quality infrastructure, excellent transportation networks, and logistic services, is the ideal gateway through which to access the GCC markets."
This year the EDB attended the 32nd International Supply Chain Conference which was held in Berlin, conducted a high level official visit to Germany during which representatives participated in the Munich Transport Logistic Exhibition, and attended the sixth "Ghorfa" Education and Vocational Training Forum in Berlin.
