Government's keenness on cooperation with legislature reaffirmed

Manama, Nov. 12 (BNA): Parliament and Information Affairs Minister, Isa bin Abdulrahman Al Hammadi, reaffirmed the government's keenness on boosting cooperation with the legislature in consolidating transparency, accountability and preservation of public funds through seriously and effectively dealing with Financial and Administrative Audit Bureau's remarks and recommendations. During his visit to the Council of Representatives Financial and Economic Affairs Committee member, MP Mohammed Al Ahmed, at his Majlis in the presence of several MPs and officials from the ministry, the minister cited the taking of legal and administrative measures to deal with the remarks to ensure optimum use of national resources. During discussions, the minister praised the efforts of the Council of Representatives in legislation and monitoring over the executive authority's work, affirming the government's keenness on compliance with the directives of HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister; and, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, regarding cooperation with parliament on the improvement of the financial situation, taking care of citizens' interests and their rights in dignified livelihood. MP Al Ahmed expressed gratitude and appreciation to the minister for his visit and communicating and boosting the cooperation between the legislature and executive bodies, lauding the role of national media in the coverage of the activities and sessions of the Council of Representatives and its contributions to bolstering democratic practices in the prosperous reign of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
