BACA President mourns Bahraini writer Al-Bassam

Manama, Nov 10 (BNA): Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA)' President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammad Al Khalifa has mourned Bahraini writer Khalid Hamad Sulaiman Al-Bassam who passed away today. It is worth mentioning that the late writher had authored more than 32 books in history , literature and journalism. He was awarded the GCC Creativity Award in the middle of last month in Doha, Qatar. He was honoured in 2014 by Al-Khoja Cultural Foundation in Saudi Arabia. He won the first place in a referendum held for Bahrain's favorite columnists in July 1999. His books (Bay of Tales) published in 1993 and (Shock of Friction) published in 1998 were two of the most popular books in the United Kingdom, according to Arab newspapers in London.
