HRH Premier receives speaker, Shura Council chairman

Manama, Nov. 9 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has affirmed that attempts to subvert regional security will not stop, stressing that whenever a plot against the Nation is foiled, those seeking no good for the peoples of the region repeat their attempt. "Such challenges require us to safeguard our internal security through cooperation and solidarity between the government and the representatives of the people to overcome their dangers and spare the citizens their repercussions during this serious security and economic situation," he said. HRH Premier made the statements as he received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Speaker of the Representatives Council Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla, Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, MPs and Shura Council members, in the presence of former Speaker Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Dhahrani and a number of senior state officials. "The global economic situation makes it necessary for us to focus on developing the investment potentials at the local level, which requires a legislative support from the Representatives and Shura council," he said, noting that the national economic and development achievements are the outcome of collective cooperation, and such cooperation should be intensified so as to move to new phases of growth based on a diversified economic base, especially amid the existing global economic conditions.
