Works minister receives Indian human rights delegation

Manama, Nov. 8 (BNA): Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf has affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain's keenness on ensuring freedom of religion and consolidating the values of cooperation, love and peace between Bahraini citizens and residents, within the government's framework that is based on respecting the human rights and spreading the culture of dialogue.
This came as the minister received here today an Indian delegation of activists in the field of peaceful co-existence led by Arun Tiwari, currently on a visit to Bahrain to be informed on Bahrain's unique experience in the field of co-existence and freedom to practice religious rites.
The minister said that Bahrain believes in the importance of communication among society's segments to achieve peaceful co-existence, which, he said, are that same values promoted by the leadership.
He pointed out that Bahrain is a country that embraces ethnic and religious minorities, and promotes a culture of respect and peaceful coexistence among all sectors and religions.
The Indian delegation presented a book made specially for this visit and some historical collectables in order to build bridges of communication. It lauded the warm welcome by Bahrain's governmental and non-governmental organisations and authorities to open the way for other cultures that call for tolerance and disseminate the pillars of peace among different religions.
