Nasser bin Hamad attends qualifying endurance race

Manama, Nov. 7 (BNA): His Majesty the King’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, Bahrain Olympic Committee President and Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Honorary President HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the qualifying 80-km endurance race of the federation’s endurance season on Saturday, along with Breef President HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa.
On the occasion of the beginning of the local endurance races season, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa said the qualifying 80km race on Saturday witnessed strong competition in all stages, as a number of skilled riders from the different stables of Bahrain took part in it.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his gladness and optimism of the joining of new local riders in this year’s endurance season, adding a technical boost to the competition.
He asserted that Breef is following a plan to integrate young riders and promising talents within the federation, adding that the performance shown in the qualifying race predicts a strong endurance season ahead.
Rider Hood Ibrahim won the three stages of the qualifying 80-km race on his steed Samba from Victorious Stables. He finished the first stage in 01:43:26 time and with the speed of 23 km/h. Hood finished the second and third in 00:51:48 and 00:49:12, respectively.
This is a great comeback for Hood who was eliminated from the competition in the previous season due to an he sustained in a traffic accident last year. He expressed that he is looking forward for a strong endurance season this year.
