Bahrain participates in Arab E-Media Committee meeting

Cairo, Nov. 2 (BNA): The Ministry of Information Affairs participated in the extraordinary meeting of the Arab Electronic Committee held in the headquarters of the Arab League (AL)'s General Secretariat on October 25-26. The meeting was held in implementation of the resolutions passed during the 46th Arab Information Ministers Council's session chaired by the United Arab Emirates last May. The meeting was presided over by Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazala Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League for Media and Communications Sector during which a proposal presented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was discussed per which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will defray the cost of construction of the Data Portal for Arab League's E-Media and also the cost of its design, maintenance, activation, input of e-content from the data provided by Arab countries and perfect selection of web design as well as training of committee members on its use. The Head of New Media Department, Maysa Yousif, said the Kingdom of Bahrain has expressed its full readiness during the meeting to feed the electronic website with the necessary data and links to serve the objectives of the committee in addition to complete readiness to oversee the management of Bahrain's webpage e-content of the Data Portal of the Arab League's E-Media after its launching in the upcoming months. The Kingdom of Bahrain also confirmed its readiness to provide the website with interviews, research studies related to e-Media in Bahrain for academic purposes and the exchange of expertise.
