Bahrain, Russia mark silver jubilee

Manama, Oct.28 (BNA): A photo expo marking the silver jubilee of relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation.
Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa inaugurated the expo at the Art Centre in Manama.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Russian Ambassador to Bahrain Vagif Garaev, Capital Governor Shaikh Hesham bin Abdulkarim Al-Khalifa, Bahrain Ambassador to Moscow Ahmed Al-Saati, diplomats and other cultural figures.
BACA President thanked the Russian embassy for its efforts to build bridges between peoples in the two countries, commending strong cultural relations bonding Manama and Moscow over twenty-five years.
The photo expo will be open on Thursday (Oct 29) from 9 AM till 8 PM and on Friday (Oct30) from 4.30 to 8:00 PM.
In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), BACA President stressed the importance of the photo expo which celebrates the silver jubilees between Bahrain and Russia.
She stressed steadily-growing relations, pointing out particularly exchanged visits which contributed to bolstering bilateral relations and strengthening relations in all fields.
Russian Ambassador to Bahrain Vagif Garaev hailed strong bilateral relations, stressing the importance of the photo expo which highlights the vital role of culture as mirror reflecting amity between peoples.
He paid tribute to the leaders of both countries for their keenness on strengthening joint political, cultural and social relations, pointing out that he had agreed with BACA president to hold a bigger photo expo.
Bahrain Ambassador to Moscow Ahmed Al-Saati paid homage to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for his pivotal role in bolstering joint ties.
He also commended the visits of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince as well as the foreign minister to Moscow, which, he said, contributed to strengthening bilateral relations and boost joint cooperation in all fields.
