Bahrain participates in GCC meeting on environment

Doha, Oct 28 (BNA): Supreme Council for the Environment (SCE)'s Chief Executive Dr. Mohammad bin Mubarak bin Dina has led Bahrain's delegation to the 19th meeting of GCC Ministers and Officials for Environment Affairs, being held within the Gulf Environment Conference hosted by Qatar. The participants agreed on a number of key recommendations and decisions that will contribute to the development of the principles of environment protection and conservation of natural resources in the GCC countries. They underlined unifying stances during the negotiations on the United Nations Convention on Climate Change, the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer and the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. They agreed to support the UAE's efforts in organizing the 27th meeting of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. The meeting discussed establishing strategic cooperation with Jordan, Morocco, Turkey, United Kingdom and Japan.
