HRH Premier orders speedy implementation of Muharraq projects

Manama, Oct. 27 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has urged the implementation of approved projects quickly and without delay, stressing that the government has put in place all requirements for that. HRH the Prime Minister issued directives to give top priority to a number of development projects in Muharraq and expedite their implementation. They include the new central market and the immediate evacuation of the old one, the multi-storey park at the current premises of Muharraq Post, the speedy construction of the damaged part in the Muharraq Souk, providing the basic needs for the Souk regarding facilities, roads, halls for visitors and facilities for the market's shoppers and visitors, acquiring a land lot for the Muharraq branch of the University of Bahrain and revamping the Grand Muharraq Park to be a recreational facility for the citizens. HRH Premier also issued instructions to expand the urban renovation experience, such as the case of Abu Maher, to cover more areas. HRH Premier directed the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning to revamp Al-Dair and Samaheej Avenues and complete the Busaiteen Coast Project. The Prime Minister tasked the Ministerial Committee for Urbanisation and Infrastructure to follow-up on the implementation of the aforesaid projects, in coordination with the relevant ministries and government departments. HRH the Prime Minister made the statements as he visited the Muharraq Municipality today out of his keenness on following up personally on government projects in order to be informed closely about their implementation process. HRH Premier held a meeting with the government officials in charge of service sectors, in the presence of members of the Muharraq Municipal Council. He reviewed a number of vital projects that serve the local citizens and fulfil their needs. HRH Premier underlined the government's keenness on implementing service projects that meet the citizens' needs and the requirements of the economic and social development. "Our top priorities are achieving the aspirations of His Majesty the King, fulfilling the needs of our citizens and providing the best government services," he told the audience. HRH Premier was informed about the progress of the projects currently implemented in Muharraq and the reasons behind the delay of some of them through a presentation staged by the Muharraq Municipal councilors. In another detailed presentation by the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, HRH Prince Khalifa was provided with information about the technical and legal reasons that delayed the completion of some projects. HRH Premier also followed up on the housing projects in Muharraq through a presentation by the Housing Minister. In this regard, HRH the Prime Minister issued directives to the Housing Ministry and the Muharraq Municipal Council to coordinate on a number of housing projects in Arad, Busaiteen and Hidd. Muharraq Municipal Council Chairman Mohammed Al Snan and members extended deep thanks and gratitude to HRH Premier for his unlimited support to municipal councils. They expressed pride in HRH Premier's visit which, they said, reflects his constant keenness to follow up closely on all citizen-oriented development projects.
