HRH Premier's patronage of Arab development conference praised

Cairo, Oct. 27 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan led the kingdom's delegation to the 66th session of the Executive Board of the Arab Social Affairs Ministers' Council, held at the headquarters of the Arab League's Secretariat-General here.
The kingdom's hosting of the Ministerial Conference on the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 in the Arab States on December 6-7, 2015, under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, took centre stage during the meeting.
The agenda of the session also featured the preparations for regular Arab summits in the fields of economic and social development, as well as the Post-2015 Sustainable Development Agenda in the Arab region and other issues such as reducing the poverty rate and allocating more interest in the sustainable development programmes.
The session also discussed the Arab Covenant of Civil Society Organisations (2015-2025), issues related to people with disabilities and putting forward a unified Arab quiz to measure the elderly quality of life, proposed by Bahrain.
The Labour and Social Development Minister hailed the decision to hold the Ministerial Conference on the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 in the Arab States in Manama, under HRH Premier's patronage, praising the Arab Social Development Ministers' lauding of the key role played by HRH the Prime Minister in the field of sustainable development, and his patronage of the such an important Arab gathering.
The minister welcomed his Arab counterparts' participation in the Manama conference, affirming that HRH Premier has placed the Kingdom of Bahrain at the top of countries which are keen on achieving sustainable development, and is interested in intensifying national and regional efforts to launch an effective Arab plan to achieve development policies and programmes that benefit all.
The session also discussed issues related to Arab social work, reducing poverty, and providing relief aid for brotherly Yemen.
In this regard, the ministers praised the kingdom of Bahrain's supportive stance towards Yemen's legitimacy, security and stability.
