Leaders congratulated on historic world endurance title

Manama, Oct. 24 (BNA): Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa has extended sincere congratulations to HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, on the Royal Endurance Team’s winning of the World Endurance Championships for Young Riders & Juniors, held in Chile. Shaikh Salman asserted that the impressive achievement was the fruitful outcome of the leadership's constant support to youth and sport movement in the kingdom through providing Bahraini athletes with all success requirements. He paid similar tribute to HM the King’s Personal Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for the landmark achievement, commending his efforts to support the endurance and equestrian sport in the kingdom, which, he said, helped it reach world levels. The historic title proves the distinguished status currently enjoyed by the kingdom regarding endurance races, and reflects the Bahraini riders' strong resolve to honour their nation during various international gatherings, he said. Shaikh Salman praised the performance of rider Fahad Al Khatri, the world junior champion, and his team mates for their brilliant performance, describing them as the real assert of the Bahraini sport.
