LMRA's CEO receives US Ambassador

Manama, Oct. 22 (BNA): The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA)'s CEO, Ausamah bin Abdullah Al-Absi, met the Ambassador of the United States to the Kingdom of Bahrain, William Roebuck. The ambassador was accompanied with a delegation comprising the Special Envoy for International Labour Affairs in the US Department of State, Sarah Fox; and the Supervisor of Foreign Affairs in the Office for Democracy, Human Rights and Labour, Emmy McCann. Al-Absi briefed the US delegation about labour market policies and regulations aimed to boost the rights of workers and employers as well as national economic development. They discussed the LMRA's commitment to the protection of foreign workers, combating human trafficking, and increasing public awareness of the principles and practice of labour rights as per Law 1/2008 for Combating Human Trafficking.
