Prime Minister renews call for participation in elections

SANA'A, Dec. 31 (Saba)- Prime Minister Ali Mujawar renewed call to
laggard and reluctant parities to participate in the forthcoming
parliamentary elections.

He called on these parties for positive participation in this
democratic process which makes foundations to new phase of
democratic process.

"Organizing this symposium comes while our people prepare for
holding the fourth democratic right, within democratic atmosphere,
for electing its representatives," said Mujawar in the opening
ceremony of the National Symposium on Yemeni Aims' Contents.

He affirmed importance of enforcing democratic practices and
expanding popular participation in decision making in different
state and public framework. He noted that organizing electoral
rounds, wither parliamentarian, presidential or municipal are
considered of the most practices of rooting democracy.

"This symposium represents a chance for shedding light on the
situation of Yemeni democratic' process, difficulties and conditions
it faces," said Mujawar.

The symposium, participated by elite of politicians, thinkers,
researchers, specialists and academics, in addition to 300 young
male and female, aimed at deepening democratic process in Yemen and
improving it as the most important foundation of Yemeni revolution.

The symposium's sessions discussed five work papers. They are on
democracy from Islamic viewpoint, roles of parities in enhancing
democracy, democratic approach, previous democratic experiences in
Yemen and democracy as the entrance for the bright future.
