Iran keen on economic ties with Sudan
Tehran, Dec 31, IRNA - Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said that Iran is willing to
expand economic cooperation with Sudan.
In a meeting with Sudanese Minister of Energy and Mining al-Zubair
Ahmed al-Hassan, Mottaki called for Tehran-Khartoum cooperation in dam
construction and oil exploration and energy.
Referring to developments in Chad and Sudan, Mottaki said that Iran
has been trying to help bring peace and stability to the two states.
He expressed deep sorrow over the Israeli war crimes taking place in
Gaza Strip and said that the Islamic Ummah will not forgive these
crimes that will bring nothing to Israel but failure.
"The right way to gain Palestinians' rights is to continue with
resistance," he noted.
The Sudanese minister, for his part, said that the meeting by the two
countries presidents and the implementation of the mutual agreements
would be effective to boost economic cooperation.
Al-Hassan condemned Zionist' criminal behavior towards the people in
Gaza and said that his country supports those people upon an emphasis
by Sudanese President Umar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir.
