MINISTRY RECOVERS RP118 TRILLION IN STATE MONEY IN 2008
Jakarta, Dec 31 (ANTARA) - The Finance Ministry succeeded in recovering Rp118.403 trillion in state money in 2008 under its bureaucracy reform program, a spokesman said.
The ministry's spokesman, Samsuar Said, in a press statement issued on Wednesday, explained the funds were retrieved through measures taken to follow up the findings of audits conducted by the ministry's inspectorate general.
Data made available by the ministry's inspectorate general indicated that of the Rp118.403 trillion, some Rp109 billion was in the form of transfers to the state treasury, Rp8.773 trillion in goods and services which were not handed over based on contracts and Rp38.93 trillion plus US$247.74 million in the form of money kept in unofficial accounts.
