BACA president receives US Ambassador

Manama, Oct. 4 (BNA): Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, president of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) received the Ambassador of the United States to the Kingdom of Bahrain, William Roebuck, and explored the bilateral cooperation ties and means of boosting cultural cooperation.
The meeting comes ahead of Shaikha Mai's receiving the Global Antiquities Fund Award on October 21 in New York as the first Arab personality to receive this award in fifty years. The award will be given to Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain and Shaikha Mai in recognition of their role in the preservation of global cultural heritage.
The ambassador was informed about latest cultural activities in the Kingdom ahead of the Bahrain International Music Festival on October 8-19 in addition to promotion of cultural sites of Bahrain through the launching of Bahrain's Tourism E-Passport.
The ambassador expressed his desire to consolidate the cultural ties between the two countries and to host joint cultural activities that enrich the ongoing cultural activities in the Kingdom.
