Highest number of travelers recorded at causeway

Manama, Sept. 30 (BNA): The Assistant Undersecretary for Ports, Search and Follow-up at the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) has announced that September 27 registered the highest number of travellers on King Fahad Causeway in one day. The number of those entering or leaving the country reached 105,182 on that day. This coincided with the return of pilgrims. The number of travellers from September 19 to 28 reached 514,773. He said that as part of the directives of His Excellency the Interior Minister and follow-up by the NPRA Undersecretary, all authorities cooperated as planned to facilitate the movement of travellers. The NPRA had increased the number of passport-handling staff and opened all lanes in coordination with security authorities to facilitate the pilgrims’ paperwork in general and that of the travellers in particular.
