Saleh calls on SC to stop Israeli aggression on Gaza

KHARTOUM, Dec. 30 (Saba) - President Ali Abdullah Saleh called Wednesday on the UNSecurity Council (SC) to intervene immediately to stop the Israeli aggression.

In his speech in the opening of Sixth Summit of Sana'a Coalition in the Sudanese
capital, Khartoum, the president said called on the SC to put an end to the unfair
siege on Palestinians in Gaza Strip and to force Israel to implement the relevant
resolutions of international legitimacy.

"Only Unite States can stop the barbaric aggression of Israel and persuade the UN
Security Council to take an immediate resolution to stop the Israeli aggression on
Gaza", Saleh said.

Speaking on the developments in Somalia, president Saleh made clear that Yemen has
and still calls upon the international community to stand by the Somalia to rebuild
its institutions and for the security and stability in the Horn of Africa and
Southern Red Sea.

He added that if the situation continues on … "the consequences will be serious on
the international peace and security", indicating that the lawlessness case and
piracy threaten international navigation in the southern Red Sea and Gulf of Aden
off the coast of Somalia are the best evidence of this chaos.

Yemen has early warned United States, the European Union and the neighboring
countries to that, president Saleh said, urging the need to stand by Somalia to
bring security, stability and peace back to Somalia.

Regarding Darfur region of Sudan, Saleh renewed the Yemen's stance upporting Sudan
for bringing peace in the region, condemning strongly the International Criminal
Court's intervention in the Sudanese internal affairs.



President Saleh voiced his happiness of taking part in the summit that was kicked
off on Tuesday under the presidency of Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir,
highlighting the Coalition achievements in last period.

The coalition of Sana'a is open for any country wants to join in to serve
development and peace in the region.
