HRH Premier congratulated by Interior minister

Manama, Sept. 29 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has received a cable from the Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa. The minister extended sincere congratulations to HRH the Prime Minister on being granted the "Information and Communication Technology in Sustainable Development" Award by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) during a special ceremony held by ITU at the UN headquarters in New York, in the presence of high-profile delegations. The prestigious award was conferred on HRH Premier in tribute to his crucial role in achieving the sustainable development goals at the local and international levels, and in recognition of Bahrain's landmark strides in the field of information and communication technology, he said. The Interior Minister added that HRH the Prime Minister was honoured in appreciation of his role in the progress boom witnessed by the kingdom during His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's prosperous era, as well as his directives to take advantage of ICT to achieve sustainable development across the nation. He prayed to Allah Almighty to guide HRH Premier on the right path so as to enhance the kingdom's development and progress.
