Ministry approves a/c efficiency code

Manama, Sept. 29 (BNA): The Ministry of Industry and Commerce issued Resolution 70/2015 regarding approval of efficiency code for window or split system non-ducted air conditioners (a/cs) aimed to reduce electric energy consumption. The new code is another success for Bahrain in energy saving and environmental protection that is compatible with global trends and regulations to conserve energy, protect the environment, curb waste and improve energy consumption, according to Mona Al Zeerah the Director of Specifications and Standards Department in the Ministry. The new code becomes effective as from 20 February 2016 and allows six months for manufacturers and importers of air-conditioners to comply with its mandatory requirements.
